HURRICANE HELLENE
Dear friends we have communicated little during this devastating time for Black Mountain and the entire Asheville region. One our power, internet, cell phones and roads to much of our region has been literally destroyed by flooding.  Also, lamentable has been our inability to communicate with the outside communities and with each other. It has been devastating to properties and lives. Our beautiful mountains has as it were a drape of death as we grieve the deaths of people we know and those we don't know but the impact is the same. We weep with each other.  Each day surfaces more tragedies and deaths of connections with people we know. We are stunned in silence as we hear each heart-wrenching story.
2/17/2025 Funeral

Today February 17th at 1:00 we celebrate the homegoing of our beloved member Tina Norton. Visitation will be from 11 until 1:00. After being flooded out of her residence which she shared with her sister Sandra Helton in Swananoa they had to move a distance to other towns and were not able to attend church since Hurricane Helene. We have missed her greatly along with Sandra. Our prayers are with the family as we walk this journey today. The funeral will take place in Marshall NC at Madison Funeral Home chapel. https://www.madisonfh.com/obituaries/Tina-Shelton-Norton?obId=36967084&utm_campaign=marquee-share-button&utm_term=copy-link&utm_content=cro-1186-v2#/obituaryInfo

11/11/2024 PRAYER WITHOUT CEASING

Sunday November 10th a prayer broke forth spontaneously when we would have normally dismissed the service. It continued until about 2:30. Two amazing prayer warriors were directed to drive a few hours to be in church and as God directed their unexpected destination ended at Black Mountain Church of God. That prayer meeting then continued all Sunday afternoon and through the night. It is now after 3:00 pm on Monday and the prayer continues. Others are joining at 6:00 this evening. We are not sure where this will lead but this kind of praying with fasting promises that barriers and strongholds will be broken. We plan to continue praying at 6:00 each evening with anyone who would like to attend. This breaking forth of intercession and fasting was not on our schedule but was an event orchestrated we believe by the Holy Spirit. I expect this to happen all week reaching into our Sunday service at 11:00. Our God is an Awesome God.  Pastor Phillips
